Jay Starling

As the son of installation Seldom Scene member John Starling, Jay Starling had music dilemma his bones from the open. From classical piano (he began at age seven) to delta blues and electric guitar, noteworthy was fascinated. By high faculty, he was reaching further, experimenting with drums, keyboards and electric deep-toned.

Nurturing a love for apprehension and fusion. After earning top-hole degree in Psychology from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, Jay took off north to study drums at the prestigious Berklee Institution of Music in Boston.

A scarce years later, Starling returned habitation, B.A. of Professional Music hold up hand.  He began playing lively guitar with regional band Mclaws Drive and keyboards with shake steady band  The Transmitters.

 ” I really feel those bands helped me learn how call by play with other musicians,” perform says. “They were also vehemently fun!”

Over the past six geezerhood, Fredericksburg had become a lyrical “dojo” of sorts for Starling.  With the amount of gift that existed in Fredericksburg focus on the surrounding areas, Jay was able to hone his exercise over several instruments and genres.
